and Buddy Team Form

What is the Buddy Walk? The Buddy Walk, celebrating it's 10th year in Anchorage, it's 11th nationally, is an awareness event designed to tell people about Down syndrome, the individuals who have it and about our group, the Alaska Chapter of the National Down Syndrome Congress. The Buddy Walk is our sole fund raiser of the year but collecting donations is optional. We want people to come and have fun!

There will be door prizes for those who collect donations and for the walker who brings the most "BUDDIES".

We are back to our original location Central Middle School, at 15th and C Street in Anchorage. You may walk the loop adjacent to the school or chose to complete your laps on the fenced track.

BUDDY TEAMS
In addition to a "new old" location we have added another element this year:

Form a team of BUDDIES representing an individual with Down syndrome or join someone else's team. Who can form or join a team? Anyone! Friends and family, neighbors, classmates, church members, Scout troops, therapists and teachers, just to name a few.

All teams who solicit $250 in pledges will be listed on the 10th anniversary Buddy Walk t-shirt and will have their team leaders entered into a drawing for an IPOD! In addition the TEAM which collects the most donations will be treated to a PIZZA PARTY! You must register your team by September 1st in order to be listed on the t-shirt.
